London Legal English welcomes new Director of Studies

Legal English UK appoints experienced EFL tutor Michael Davies to a newly created Director of Studies role. He will be based in London and will be responsible for training and mentoring online teachers as well as UK and Europe-based tutors.

Leading teacher of Legal English Michael Davies has been appointed Director of Studies by Legal English UK. Michael, who has been teaching the subject for over 15 years, is based in London and has written several bestselling books on the subject.

The role of Director of Studies

The Director of Studies is responsible for training and mentoring tutors and ensuring that quality control is maintained throughout the school. The job description requires that Legal English UK maintain a quality control and standard of language teaching that is higher than Business English UK and the British Council's accreditation systems.

15 years teaching Legal English

Michael Davies has taught Legal English and Business English around the world, with stints in Japan and Spain before returning to the UK to work with Brookfield Relocation Services on several language training projects.

He has written two books on Legal English, Legal English Skills for Lawyers and a well-received book on The Legal Profession. He has run language courses for groups of international lawyers from law firms across Europe and organisations from across the world.
